Before you ask for my attention
There’s something I think a lot of submissives get completely backwards when approaching a Domme. They arrive wanting attention first. They want replies, conversation, tasks, praise, humiliation, personal attention, good morning messages, the privilege of being remembered... maybe eventually a collar or ownership. They want to feel important to her before they’ve really given her any reason to consider them important.
And then somewhere after all of that, they start wondering what they should actually be doing for her lol. Attention isn’t where devotion begins, it’s one of the things devotion earns. I’m not saying you need to arrive at a Domme’s feet with your life savings and a 12-month service plan before you’re allowed to say hello lol, but I do think there’s been this weird shift where some submissives expect an enormous amount from a Domme immediately while offering very little themselves.
And I don’t just mean money... although yes, obviously I’m a Findomme, tributing matters to me. Shocking revelation I know.🤭 But devotion is bigger than a single send. Anyone can make one grand gesture. You can send once, write me a paragraph about how devoted you are, call me Princess seventeen times in a DM and tell me you’ve “never felt this way about a Domme before”...Cute. What happens next? Because I’m much more interested in patterns than performances.
I notice the submissive who keeps showing up, the one who contributes without needing to be dragged there every single time. The one who actually reads what I say instead of waiting for his turn to speak, remembers something I mentioned weeks ago, follows instructions properly and supports what I’m doing because he genuinely enjoys seeing me benefit. I also notice the one who understands that sometimes being useful means not requiring anything from me at all.
That’s devotion to me. You don’t need to repeatedly announce how devoted you are if your behaviour is already doing it for you. There’s also this strange expectation sometimes that a tribute creates unlimited entitlement to a Domme’s time. A sub sends and you can almost hear the little calculator going in his head... "I sent £X, therefore I should receive X amount of conversation." No. A tribute is an acknowledgement of value. It says your time has value, your attention has value and I understand that approaching you isn’t the same as appearing in some random woman’s inbox and expecting her to entertain me simply because I’m there.
And yes, a good send will absolutely get my attention.😌 However, what makes me remember you is everything that happens over time. Consistency, reliability, obedience, acts of service, paying attention, learning me...
There’s a massive difference between somebody who wants to consume my attention and somebody who wants to contribute to my world, and I know which one interests me more.
Something else submissives overlook is that acts of service aren’t universal. Something one Domme finds incredibly thoughtful could mean absolutely nothing to another. If you genuinely want to serve somebody, you actually have to learn the woman you’re serving. What makes her life easier? What does she enjoy? What has she mentioned wanting? What does she consider good behaviour? How does she like to be worshipped?
There’s something incredibly attractive about a submissive developing that awareness. Not constantly appearing with “What can I do for you?” but eventually knowing me well enough to think she’ll like this... and being right. Sometimes the answer is money. Sometimes it’s buying something I’ve wanted, supporting a new clip, participating in something I’ve created or completing a task without needing six reminders. Sometimes it’s remembering a tiny detail I mentioned ages ago. And sometimes it’s simply knowing when to shut up.😂
Devotion should make my life better, not give me another responsibility.
This becomes even more important when submissives tell me they want something “deeper”. They want a long-term dynamic, ownership, daily interaction, rules, structure, accountability, privileges, a place in my life...Okay, but why would any of that begin on day one? Those things have value precisely because not everybody gets them. If I gave the same level of access and intimacy to every submissive who wandered into my messages, none of it would mean very much. There should be somewhere for a dynamic to actually go.
You begin as somebody I don’t know. Then perhaps you become a name I recognise... then somebody I enjoy seeing, somebody reliable, somebody whose behaviour I’ve started to learn. Maybe I develop expectations of you, maybe you earn privileges other people don’t have, maybe I start wondering where you are when you disappear. Maybe eventually you become somebody I consider mine.
You don’t just walk in at the final level because you’ve decided that’s the dynamic you want. Where’s the fun in that anyway? I think attention has its own kind of inflation too. If a brand-new submissive immediately gets unlimited access to me, what exactly is left for him to earn? If he gets the same amount of conversation, personal attention and emotional energy as somebody who has consistently served me for six months, why would being that second person feel special?
There has to be a difference.
I want somebody who has genuinely earned more access to feel that difference. More of my attention should mean something, being remembered should mean something, being trusted should mean something. Being given a privilege that another sub doesn’t have should definitely mean something.
Ownership especially should mean something.
Otherwise we’re just handing out titles and attention until neither has any value left.🤷♀️ And no, that doesn’t mean I think devotion should become some cold exchange where "I did X so now you owe me Y." That isn’t devotion either, it’s just another transaction dressed up in prettier language. The submissives who tend to hold my attention are the ones who actually enjoy the service itself. They like making me happy, being useful, seeing me benefit from something they’ve done. They enjoy earning praise instead of constantly fishing for it and there’s something very satisfying about watching someone slowly go from being another username in my notifications to someone I genuinely recognise.
That transition is worth far more than forcing instant familiarity. You really don’t need to constantly ask a Domme “How do I get your attention?” because the answer is usually sitting right in front of you. Pay attention. Show up. Tribute. Be consistent. Do what you say you’re going to do, find ways to be useful, respect her time and support the things she creates. Learn what she values instead of performing some generic version of submission you assume every Domme wants... and don’t expect one good deed to immediately unlock the kingdom.😂
Let your behaviour accumulate. Eventually your username stops being unfamiliar. Then I start remembering things about you, I develop expectations of you, I notice when you meet them and, eventually...I notice when you’re missing. That’s a very different kind of attention from the kind you can simply demand in a DM. And it’s considerably more valuable.
You don’t earn my attention by asking for more of it... you earn it by giving me reasons to notice you in the first place.
