đź‘‘What Ownership Means to Međź‘‘
I use the word ownership.
Intentionally.
I like it.
I like the weight of it.
The possessiveness.
The symbolism.
The psychological little shiver hidden inside:
My pet.
My submissive.
Mine.
But ownership within BDSM is not literal human ownership.
You do not cease being a person.
I do not magically inherit legal authority over your bank account, relationships, employment, body, medical decisions, family, or life because you called Me Goddess three times and got horny.
Behave.
Real ownership dynamics require considerably more substance than fantasy language.
To Me, ownership means negotiated responsibility.
You are giving Me authority within areas we have consciously defined.
That authority may be narrow.
Or extensive.
It may involve money.
Chastity.
Tasks.
Routine.
Sexual permission.
Service.
Behavior.
Certain decisions.
Communication.
Perhaps eventually pieces of your lifestyle.
But the boundaries of that authority matter.
Because surrender only has meaning when both people understand what has actually been surrendered.
I also don't believe ownership should mean the submissive performs all the responsibility while the Dominant receives all the entertainment.
If you become Mine in any meaningful sense, I acquire responsibilities too.
To remember your limits.
To notice changes.
To communicate.
To respect safewords.
To distinguish resistance that is part of play from genuine distress.
To avoid using authority carelessly simply because I can.
To know when pushing is fun...
and when stopping is competent.
Ownership should make the dynamic stronger.
Not make one person's wellbeing irrelevant.
That doesn't mean I'll suddenly become soft.
Quite the contrary.
Clear boundaries create more room for Me to be deliciously demanding inside them.
If I know exactly where the walls are, I can push you toward them confidently.
I can tease.
Test.
Challenge.
Train.
Deny.
Reward.
Correct.
Possess.
And when I say:
Mine.
You know precisely what I mean.
There are expectations attached to that word.
There are rituals.
Privileges.
Responsibilities.
Standards.
Perhaps a collar.
Perhaps a title.
Perhaps a rank.
Perhaps a private rule nobody else knows.
Perhaps simply the understanding that when I speak within the territory you've placed beneath My authority...
you listen.
And maybe eventually being called Mine stops sounding like playful language.
Maybe it starts producing an immediate feeling.
Recognition.
Security.
Heat.
Nervousness.
Pride.
Submission.
All bundled together.
That is the kind of ownership that interests Me.
Not taking someone who never had a choice.
Being chosen by someone who did...
and watching them discover how much they enjoy what happens after they make it.
