The Gamemaster
Iβm not particularly interested in being reached. Iβm quiet, distant, and perfectly content to remain behind the curtain while you wonder whether Iβve noticed you at all.
My attention isnβt something I offer freely, and I certainly donβt need your company. If you want to step into my carnival, youβll have to accept that I may never bother to learn your name.
Thatβs part of the appeal, isnβt it?
You can stand beneath the lights and watch the games from the entrance, listening to the music and wondering what waits beyond the gates. You can walk away whenever you like.
But if you stay, eventually youβll have to decide whether watching is enough.
The carnival is mine. The rules are mine. The games are mine.
So stop hovering at the gate. Step inside, or admit you were never brave enough to play.
