Do Not Lurk Outside The Carnival
πͺ Still standing at the gates?
Iβve seen you there.
Lingering beneath the carnival lights, watching the games from a safe little distance. Listening to the laughter. Watching Moth crush the hopes and dreams of those who enter. Wondering what it might feel like to finally step onto the midway. To see if you could best Her.
You could leave, of course.
Nobodyβs stopping you.
But you keep looking back. Debating, becoming weaker to it by the second.
Thereβs always another excuse to wait. Another reason to tell yourself youβll take the risk later. Yet every night, the lights come on, the music starts, and there you are again, hovering just beyond the entrance.
Perhaps youβre afraid of losing.
Perhaps youβre afraid of finding out how badly you want to play.
Either way, the carnival isnβt going anywhere.
The gates are open.
The only question is how long you intend to stand outside them. π
