Depression Kitty
She doesn’t arrive loud.
She never does.
She just starts climbing…
soft paws, careful weight,
up the calves, past the knees,
higher
tighter
until the grip feels almost kind.
Depression kitty.
Warm. Inviting.
She purrs against the places that already ache
and somehow makes the ache feel like rest.
Like maybe if you stop fighting the colour will stop draining so fast.
But it still drains.
Behind every “Goddess,” every bratty caption,
every demand for tribute and smile for the camera, there is a person
sitting in the quiet
with claws in her skin
trying not to go under
Sometimes the Domme on your screen is not in the mood to ruin anyone.
Sometimes she is just trying to remember what solid ground feels like.
Sometimes she needs the soft ones - the boys and girls who know how to be gentle,
who send without being asked twice,
who say “I’ve got you”
without needing a performance in return.
Because when the world starts slipping,
being hard is exhausting.
Being the one who always holds it together
is exhausting.
And it is easier to be soft
when someone else is willing
to hold a little of the weight
without asking her to smile through it.
This is just the truth my love
that lives behind the screen you goon for
Even the ones who take sometimes need to be held.
Even the brats sometimes need to be babied.
Even the Goddess has a depression kitty that climbs higher on the days the colour fades.
If you are soft enough to see her,
be soft with her.
It matters more than you know.
