You Don’t Get My Attention Just Because You Want It

Aug 30, 2026 · 4 min read

There’s a difference between wanting a Domme and being the kind of sub a Domme actually wants to keep.

Plenty of men can call me Miss. Plenty can tell me they’re submissive, that they want to obey, that they’ve been looking for someone like me.

Those are words.

I’m much more interested in what happens afterwards.

I want to see whether you listen. Whether you remember what I tell you. Whether you can follow a simple instruction without immediately looking for praise for doing the bare minimum.

Because my attention isn’t automatic.

It’s earned.

And I think that’s where things become much more interesting.

I’m not interested in shouting constantly or pretending to be cruel every second of the day. I don’t need to. Sometimes disappointment is far more effective.

Imagine having my approval and then losing it.

You’ve been behaving beautifully. You’ve learned what pleases me. You’ve become accustomed to hearing that you’re my good boy.

Then you slip.

Suddenly the praise disappears.

No dramatic tantrum. No performance.

Just the uncomfortable realisation that I’m no longer impressed.

Perhaps I become a little quieter. Perhaps you get fewer words from me. Perhaps that title you were so pleased to earn disappears and you find yourself right back at the bottom, wondering what you need to do to deserve it again.

That interests me far more than meaningless cruelty.

I like obedience that develops over time.

I want to learn what motivates you. What makes you ridiculously proud of yourself. What kind of praise makes you light up and what kind of disappointment makes your stomach drop.

Some subs need firmness. Some need teasing. Some practically train themselves the moment they realise there’s a chance of being called a good boy.

And some need reminding that wanting my attention doesn’t mean they’re entitled to it.

That doesn’t mean I want perfection.

Perfection would be boring.

A shy sub can interest me. So can an experienced one. You don’t need the perfect introduction or an enormous list of kinks to approach me.

What matters much more is whether there’s something behind the words.

Are you actually willing to listen?

Can you communicate?

Do you know your limits?

Can you tell me when something isn’t right rather than agreeing to everything because you think that’s what submission is supposed to look like?

And when you tell me you’re going to do something, do you actually follow through?

That last one matters.

I have a soft side, but I don’t think it means quite what some subs hope it means.

Being sweet to you doesn’t mean you’ve suddenly become my equal in the dynamic. Praise is still mine to give. Attention is still mine to decide. If I call you a good boy, I want you to know you genuinely earned it.

That makes it worth something.

The same applies to financial submission.

Money can be part of the dynamic, and I absolutely enjoy being spoiled, but simply throwing money in my direction doesn't automatically make someone interesting.

I’d rather understand why you enjoy giving it to me.

Is it the act of surrendering something?

Knowing you’ve contributed to something I wanted?

Seeing me pleased because you behaved exactly as I expected?

Or is it simply the delicious little reminder that you could have kept it — and chose to put it in my hands instead?

That psychology interests me.

So does the progression.

The first nervous introduction.

The first instruction.

The first time I praise you and realise exactly how much you liked hearing it.

The moment you stop wondering whether you want to submit and start wondering whether you’re doing enough to impress me.

That’s where a dynamic becomes interesting.

Not because you suddenly stop having boundaries, a life or a mind of your own.

But because within the space we’ve agreed belongs to us, you willingly give me control.

And then I get to decide what I do with it.

Maybe you earn praise.

Maybe you earn privileges.

Maybe you get ignored for a while because you’ve become a little too comfortable.

Maybe you work your way towards a title only to discover I’m perfectly willing to demote you again.

Or maybe you surprise me.

I rather like when that happens.

So if you’re reading this because you’re searching for someone to submit to, don’t start by telling me you’ll do absolutely anything.

I probably won’t believe you.

Tell me who you are.

Tell me what draws you to submission.

Tell me what makes you nervous, what you enjoy, where your boundaries are and what kind of dynamic actually keeps you coming back.

Then give me a reason to want to know more.

Because getting my attention is easy.

Keeping it is where your work begins.
