Dynamics & Importance of Communication
Communication is very often looked over in the beginnings of establishing a dynamic or even just beginning a discussion with a sub/dom in favor of quick sends and fun games. But why is this so detrimental to the long term dynamic? Why do findom relationships without the foundational communication fail so easily?
Tributes and games can be rush inducing, addicting, and they do seem like the whole idea surrounding findom. "Sit pretty, get money", but this is not a get rich quick scheme.
For submissives, the lack of communication from a domme is often seen as a red flag, a dangerous sign of someone who does not know what they are doing. For dominants, it is seen as much of the same thing. A red flag of someone who is inexperienced and refuses the basics. Sometimes, it simply begins as no communication on either side and both expecting the other to start the communication, ending in a spiral of miscommunication that never had a chance to begin.
Communication needs to start from the beginning. Discussing budgets, needs, wants, desires, what fetishes and kinks you both have that intertwine, the whole nine yards and more.
Establishing a dynamic, together, requires mutual communication, mutual trust, and mutual boundary setting.
Personally I like this to look like simply talking, playing simple games to get to know each others styles and getting to know one another over the course of a day or maybe 3. Talking over our mutual interests, our mutual kinks and fetishes, and our mutual desires. Slowly our trust will build, and we will desire that deeper connection, and eventually we may form that deeper dynamic if so desired.
Of course, communication has many different looks, feels and approaches to it. It is absolutely beautiful to build a deep connection with someone based on deep conversations and eventually even more, be it romance, kink, or our wonderfully freaky world of findom.
I believe healthy communication is a pillar for a successful relationship of any kind. Friendship, romance, findom dynamics, and so on. Of course, we are only scratching the surface with communication. It is a very wonderful start, and something that leads to amazing connections.
Have you ever experienced any outstanding communication in your D/s or findom dynamics that stuck out to you? I'd love to hear them!
