Power Imbalance: A Rose and its Thorns
When we enter into a contract, our job is to take care of each other.
Not equally. Equitably.
You enter into a financial trust dynamic with me, and it's more than just you sending me money. We sign an agreement to delight one another, to pause our lives and carve out time for each other. We develop a bond of trust and understanding with one another over time.
It's my duty and my joy to learn what you love and what you hate. Likewise, it is a privilege for you to learn how to please me. Or irritate me, when you deserve to be punished.
The attention is reciprocal.
When one needs space, the other offers silent support. When one needs attention, the other provides focus and intention.
The relationship blossoms as does a flower from a seed. The seed does not do the work alone. The wind carries it to the soil. The sun, water, and earth feed it. The passage of time unfurls sprout from shell, leaf from stalk, flower from bud. Even the flower does not exist as a single and lonesome entity. It photosynthesizes from the sun, it spreads is lovely petals to attract the pollinators. Its thorns protect it from predators.
There are as many facets in the growth of a flower as there are to different relationships for goddesses and subs.
Without subs, worshipers, devotees, perhaps I would be a forgotten goddess, drifting betwixt the clouds of fate. No one to command. No one to bless. No one to play with.
Without a goddess, perhaps you would be lost and meandering through life without purpose. No one to pray to. No one to praise. No one to obey.
